Overview
Embark on a thrilling 4-day adventure with our Mount Kenya Climbing Safari. Day 1:
Nairobi-Mount Kenya
You will be picked up from your Nairobi hotel/residence at 0800hrs, and be driven to Nanyuki, which normally takes 4 hours, arriving at 1200hrs, then proceed to Mt Kenya national park Sirimon gate. Picnic lunch will be provided. After lunch, follow the track uphill for 10kms, turn left at the junction to the old Moses camp which is situated at 3300m. Then ascent from Sirimon gate to old Moses is 690m dinner/ overnight.
Day 2:
All the way to 4200m
On this day after breakfast, ascend from old Moses to the westside of the valley, over ridge then down to the Mackinders valley to meet the direct route taking two hours. From here follow the Mackinders valley to reach Shimptons camp, a total 8 hours from the old Moses to Shimptons camp at 4200m. Dinner and overnight.
Day 3:
From 4200m -4985m
Wake up early to start at 3am through loose scree to reach the Trekkers Summit by daylight, namely Point Lenana (4,985 metres). This is the 3rd highest peak on Mount Kenya. Take some celebratory photos and commence the descent to the Shiptons Hut for breakfast and onto the Old Moses Hut for overnight.
Day 4:
Mount Kenya-Nairobi
After morning breakfast, continue walking down through the bamboo and indigenous forest to reach sirimon gate to meet up with your transport back to Nairobi. you will dropped at your place of choice in Nairobi.
